Welcome to the 2026 running season with JTRR! We're excited to kick off another year of races, community and miles on the trails together. Our full season schedule is coming soon, so please check back regularly for updates and registration details. We look forward to seeing you out there!
Halloween Half & 5K - NAOC/JTRR

Join us Saturday, October 31, 2026 for the beloved Halloween Half Scare-a-Thon and 5K! Both races are out-and-back courses from the Pioneer Road trailhead at the north end of North Douglas Highway. It doesn’t matter how fast you are - there are no prizes for speed, only for the best costumes!
​
Both races start together at 10:00 AM. The 5K follows North Douglas Highway to a marked turnaround, while half-marathon runners continue to Fish Creek Road before turning around and returning to the finish. Walkers are welcome and invited to start early.

Location: Pioneer Road parking lot at the end of North Douglas Highway
Distances: Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) and 5K
Fee: Adults $15, Youth 18 and under $5

Please park on the water side of the highway to keep the shoulder clear. All runners and walkers must remain on the designated road shoulder and stay out of vehicle traffic for the entire race.
Late October weather in Juneau can vary considerably, so come prepared for cold, rain, snow, or slippery road conditions. Prizes will be awarded for the best costumes!

* The Nugget Alaska Outfitter Cup (NAOC) running series is co-sponsored each year by the Juneau Trail and Road Runners Club and Nugget Alaskan Outfitters. The points work as follows:

Runners must participate in at least three NAOC races to qualify for annual awards.

Races included in the series are designated with “NAOC” on the calendar.

Points count as follows in each division:

1st place, 10 points
-
2nd place, 9 pts.
-
3rd place, 8 pts.
-
etc. through 9th place, 2 pts.
-
All others, 1 point.

Awards are distributed at the annual meeting early the following calendar year.
